Our Classes

Toddler to Preschool Tumbling Gymnastics

Preschool Gymnastics and Fitness

For Boys and Girls, 18 Months to 5 Years Old (who haven't started Kindergarten)

These classes are 45 minutes in length

Did you know  that scientific studies in preschool children have shown that there is a direct correlation between physical movement and reading readiness? These studies reveal that neurological pathways are formed and attention span increases in children who participate in a consistent, comprehensive gymnastics program.

Early childhood participation proved to be the most effective in producing these results. Since 1979, parents have relied on East Texas Twisters to help their children build gymnastic skills. As a result of the accomplishments they achieve in our classes, they also gain self-confidence and independence.

Kids that are involved in organized, consistent physical activity are found to do better in school than non-active children. Furthermore, kids involved in athletics, especially gymnastics, are 35% more likely to go to college and finish. Of all the NCAA college sports athletes, gymnasts have the highest grade point average!

At East Texas Twisters, the preschool program provides a foundation that will grow successful, goal-oriented kids as well as enhance every aspect of their lives.

Toddler Preschool Program with Adult Participation (adult will be the co-coach) is designed for boys and girls, 18 months to 3 years old.

Preschool Tumbling/Gymnastics is designed for boys and girls 3 yrs - 4 yrs old

Developmental Tumbling Classes

Girls only, Kindergarten Through 5th Grade

These classes are 45 minutes in length

Tumbling training should be a pre-requisite for all girls who want to learn how to become the best they can be in life! Consistent training is a great foundation for all girls because experiencing success is the key to gaining self-confidence. At East Texas Twisters, there is no such thing as failure. A stronger body equals a brighter future! Most girls lack upper body strength and these classes work specifically on increasing core strength and increasing their upper body strength while developing much needed flexibility. Increasing these skills makes better all-round athletes.

At East Texas Twisters, the Developmental Tumbling classes in our Canton and Mineola locations will work the majority of the class on tumbling skills and will use the instruction on

the uneven bars, balance beam, vaulting, trampoline to build body strength and flexibility. The Mabank location will use the majority of the class focusing on tumbling skills but also using

floor exercises and the trampoline for building strength and flexibility skills. Our curriculum is designed to provide a non-competitive, achievement-oriented program of progressive skills, including conditioning and flexibility.

Developmental Tumbling classes are for girls, Kindergarten through 5th grade, beginner to advanced skill level.

Students

Tumbling and Trampoline

Boys Only, 5-18 Years Old

These classes are 45 minutes in length

Tumbling and Trampoline classes are designed just for boys who love to run, jump, and have fun. Great for gymnasts, backyard trampolinists, and kids who have lots of energy, but it is just for boys; no girls are allowed!

This class works on tumbling skills and the physical benefits of instruction on the trampoline and tumble track. These benefits include speed, strength, balance, flexibility, and agility as well as body awareness and control, which results in increased ability in other sports as well. Not only do boys who participate in the Tumbling and Trampoline classes benefit from the actual skills and training that they experience in the class, but the residual effects of their participation in this program also cause physiological changes in their bodies, making them better athletes!

Think of all the sports that require agility, strength, speed, flexibility, and body control. Kids also learn how to fall safely and without injury. There are significant physical benefits, but the real value is in the mental benefits! Kids gain confidence, discipline, focus, and attention to detail. Unlike gymnastics, learning to tumble and using the Trampoline appeal to a wide variety of body types and requires considerably less training time to achieve skill.

Dance Canton (AVAILABLE IN OUR CANTON LOCATION ONLY)

Welcome to Canton Dance Studio! We are invested in training children in the foundations of dance. Not only do we want to teach others about dance, but we also focus on other important life skills such as working as a team, accountability, responsibility, goal setting, physical and mental flexibility, and creativity. Because of all of the skills that we teach our students, we have found to have some of the most well-behaved students in and out of the studio. Canton Dance Studio is run by Nya Lofters and Hayley Fowler. We are young entrepreneurs that put all of our time and energy into creating a successful dance studio and we are partnering with East Texas Twisters. We also have college backgrounds in business management and elementary education. We are proud of the success of our studio, and more importantly, the success of our students. At Canton Dance Studio, we offer multiple public performances. Some of our performances include our yearly recital and performing at the Canton Autumn Festival.
